Frequenly Asked Questions

What does REIC offer?

REIC is a membership organization that provides advanced real estate courses and designation programs for Canadian industry professionals.

REIC has been educating and designating specialists since 1955 and we maintain a diverse community of professionals from coast-to-coast. In partnership with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) we offer courses and designations for every sector of the real estate industry.

Can I earn my license through REIC?

No, REIC does not offer any courses or programs that lead to licensing. However, we do provide many professional development opportunities for individuals who are working in the real estate industry.

If you would like information about licensing, please contact your provincial real estate board or regulators.

What is a designation?

A designation is a title held by real estate professionals that have completed advanced education and experience requirements, and who have pledged to uphold high ethical standards and business practices. To achieve and maintain REIC’s professional designations you must be a member of REIC.

How do I qualify for membership?

If you are a professional working in the real estate industry who wants to earn a professional designation, you can apply today for Candidate Membership. Once you have completed the education and experience requirements for your program, paid your annual dues, and attend an interview with a current member, you will become a designated REIC Member.

How can I apply for membership?

Visit our designations page, or speak to our Membership Services department, to find the program that best fits your career goals. Download and compete the application form, then submit the form to Membership Services.
